Daylife, the leading cloud content and publishing platform, is pleased to announce that it is the recipient of a 2011 SNCR Award of Excellence in the External Communications & Communities Category, Technology Innovation Division of the Society for New Communications Research Excellence in New Communications Awards program. The prestigious awards program honors individuals and organizations that are pioneering the use of social media and Internet communications technologies (ICT). The Award of Excellence was presented to Daylife at the 6th Annual SNCR Symposium & Awards Gala held at Harvard Universitys Faculty Club on November 3-4, 2011.
Thomson Reuters was introducing new microsites, a revamped corporate website and new blog destinations, and also wished to run dynamic display ads in both third-party websites and mobile apps. Their key desire was to create compelling and engaging destination sites that target audiences would find valuable in their everyday work and would highlight the extraordinary capabilities of Thomson Reuter’s constituent organizations.
Daylife’s Publisher Suite was put to work to power many aspects of the various destination sites created by Thomson Reuters. First, Thomson Reuters leveraged the Daylife media cloud to source and aggregate content from its dozens of companies around the world. The media cloud made this content “smarter” by identifying underlying metadata and then categorizing it. Daylife algorithms can also determine how one piece of content — whether a blog post, a video, a PowerPoint deck or a photo — relates to other content.
Curators in Thomson Reuters’ corporate marketing department then went to work selecting the Apps they wanted to use to fill out pages of content — Apps that would be constantly-updating as new, relevant content became available. They also used the Publisher Suite Dashboard to curate the types and sources of content they wished to access via the Apps they were deploying.
Those Apps were published to a new microsite (http://ke.thomsonreuters.com/), a new Thomson Reuters blog (http://blog.thomsonreuters.com/) and, over time, the main corporate website (http://thomsonreuters.com).

In its six-year history, SNCR has honored nearly 200 organizations and individuals through this prestigious awards program and all the winning case studies will be published on http://sncr.org.
