EMCF 2015: An Evening of Entertainment from People with Black Glasses
Event on 2015-09-18 21:00:00
The Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival is back! We're celebrating our 8th year of the festival from Sept. 18th – 21st. Shows will be at the Bell House and Union Hall, along with a special StarTalk Live! at the Beacon Theatre. This year's festival will include fun surprises, along with performances from our favorite comedians.
Brooklyn resident (and Russian immigrant) Eugene Mirman is a really great guy and comedian. Eugene has appeared on television, which is still a relevant medium for another few years. Some examples include: his own half hour special on Comedy Central, appearances on Conan O'Brien, a recurring role on HBO's Flight of the Conchords, Bob's Burgers, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Home Movies, Lucy, Daughter of the
Devil and the Adult Swim live action series Delocated.

Go behind the scenes of the parallel universe that is public radio's This American Life. In the style that has won millions of radio fans, Ira Glass talks about how it all comes together each week, mixing stories from the show, live onstage, with taped selections of stories, recreating the sound of the show as the audience watches. "Mr. Glass is a journalist but also a storyteller who filters his interviews and impressions through a distinctive literary imagination, an eccentric intelligence and a sympathetic heart" (The New York Times).
Actress and Comedian Janeane Garofalo has been an American institution since she burst on the scene in 1992.
In addition to acting in film and television, Janeane is an outspoken activist, spoken word performer and stand-up comedy entertainer known and respected around the country, and the world. As well, she was instrumental in the successful launching of the first liberal radio network, Air America Radio, where she hosted her own talk show, "The Majority Report." A lightning rod for controversy, Janeane's well informed opinions and unflinching honesty have inspired laughs, as well as striking a chord with the left, right and everyone in between. She is a noted peace activist.
Janeane lives in New York and Los Angeles.
