Peugeot will display its latest innovative design at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2015, with visitors able to explore the cars sporty design as well as its pioneering HYbrid technology.
The Peugeot 308 R HYbrid Concept will be on display at the Peugeot stand for both the Moving Motor Show (25th June) and the Goodwood Festival of Speed (26th-28th June). As this years only entry in the concept category, enthusiasts will be able to focus their full attention on Peugeots latest feat in plugin petrol hybrid technology.
Having taken design codes from the Peugeot Quartz concept car, the 308 R HYbrid Concept has adapted the style to suit its individual specifications. Sharp edges create a sleek and fitting shape for the HYbrid technology that fuels it, complemented further by the contrasting metallic blue and matte black bodywork.
Not unlike concept cars of the past, the dynamic interior of the 308 R HYbrid makes use of innovative materials. The digitally created fabric produces the comfort needed for an interior while simultaneously making for a much lighter vehicle.
Developed by Peugeot Sport, the high-performance engine can reach 60mph in less than 4 seconds, powered by a 4-cylinder 1.6L THP 270 S&S engine, combined with two 85kw electric motors.
Also re-centred and positioned as low as possible, the dynamic handling and 4 wheel drive handles the impressive power with ease.
To fully utilise the HYbrid technology embedded within the 308 R HYbrid, there are four different drive modes available. The Hot Lap Mode is the most powerful, and harnesses all three power sources to reach a total of 500hp. The Sport Mode is primarily reliant on the petrol engine and rear electric motor, with the front electric motor only serving as an additional source of power when accelerating.
The Road Mode is the most conservative driving style offered, giving the front electric motor a rest while allowing the petrol engine to deliver its full potential, with a little input from the rear electric motor. The final ZEV Mode does the opposite, and fully prioritises the electric motors, primarily using the rear electric motor while introducing the front electric motor when accelerating.
Utilising innovative HYbrid technology at its finest, the Peugeot 308 R HYbrid Concept sets to impress on all fronts at this years Goodwood Festival.
